Patrick had NOTHING to do with this one!

I thought about making a comment in the OP asking what Patrick is working on right now... lol

Confirmed. New Camaro is a mustang.

I’m confused about what happened, did he slam on the brakes because he hit the kerb?

Also thought about making a Camaro/Mustang joke, but no spectators to run into. lol

ABS failure?
![]() 05/12/2016 at 09:38 |

Don’t think so. Looks to me like he was understeering coming into the turn, likely braked in an attempt to avoid hitting the wall or at least reduce the speed at the moment of impact.
![]() 05/12/2016 at 09:39 |
|
Perhaps. Looks more like coming in too hot and understeering to me though.

Pretty weird crash from my point of view, lockup outta nowhere.

looks kind of like early/too fast of an entry leading to understeer from the view point of the camera.

There was at least one spectator because they took the pics.
![]() 05/12/2016 at 09:43 |

Yeah, but the Camaro headed away from them. So maybe they really are trying to be the anti-Mustang., steering away from spectators to crash.

odd how the rear locks up so much before the front. I know there front has a lot more force with weight distributing to the front but it also has stronger brakes. It seemed too extreme,i’m guessing some sort of malfunction
![]() 05/12/2016 at 09:44 |
|
Yeah, could be. Or possibly had the ABS disabled for track testing.
I’m curious to hear more details.

Rear brakes locked up first, unsettling the car and forcing the driver to lock the front brakes, going straight where the car was pointing: the barrier.
Technical failure for sure... Rear brakes don’t lock up like this before front...

He had a very good line coming in. The rear just locked up and then slidey time.

Patrick George was trying another prototype out, Chevrolet gave him another chance to not mess up.

“What we can tell from the video before the crash is that this Z/28 definitely doesn’t sound like it has turbo V6 power, as has been suggested.”
Lmfao, R&T. Who tf is suggesting a new Z/28 would have a turbo 6?? And “detuned LT4” would be less than the 640 claimed in the ZL1 with the same engine, so I highly doubt that would happen.
![]() 05/12/2016 at 10:15 |

If the fastest Camaro variant ever gets a Turbo 6, I’ll start blowing shit up.

funky, the frame is so tight it’s hard to tell what exactly happened.
![]() 05/12/2016 at 10:58 |

Looks to me like the rear locked up first and then the front... Just like would happen in that sort of weight transfer situation without ABS...

I feel like you don’t need to merely “doubt”
